Welcome to the UATN Website
The United Association was founded in 1889 to provide a unified voice for workers in the plumbing and pipefitting industry. Through the implementation of state-of-the-art training programs, the UA soon established itself as one of the most respected trade unions throughout the United States and Canada.
Today, the UA boasts a membership of over 325,000 dedicated and highly-skilled artisans who practice their craft throughout North America and abroad. Because of their excellent training, high-standards, and professionalism, UA members are continually sought after by both government and independent contractors alike.
Tennessee is home to 8 of the 321 local unions across the North American continent, and the UA-TN provides highly-skilled workers for industry in the south, as well as the rest of the country. Training is the key to the success of the United Association, and each Tennessee local is fully devoted to this ideal.
The UA-TN provides a five-year apprentice course, as well as extensive and rigorous continuing education for its journeymen. Through organized and dedicated training programs, each individual local offers numerous certifications, including: welding, med gas, pipefitting, CFC, plumbing, OSHA, HVAC, refrigeration, valve repair, and back-flow prevention.
