The prestigious Ebony Power 100 Gala is set to celebrate notable figures including Teyana Taylor and Olandria Carthen, a vibrant star from "Love Island USA."
Teyana Taylor, known for her role in the series "One Battle After Another," is poised to receive the coveted Entertainer of the Year award. Scheduled for November 4 at the luxurious Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles, the Gala promises to acknowledge Taylor’s groundbreaking contributions to the entertainment industry. Her recognition comes after a remarkable streak of accomplishments, including a standout performance in Paul Thomas Anderson's latest film and the release of her innovative visual album titled "Escape Room." The award honors Taylor's role in reshaping what it means to be an entertainer in today's landscape, appealing especially to a younger audience.
Meanwhile, Olandria Carthen, who gained immense popularity as a contestant on "Love Island USA," has earned the fan-voted people's choice award, underscoring her significant impact on social media and her appeal among audiences. Carthen faced tough competition, being nominated alongside illustrious personalities such as Tony Award-winning actress Audra McDonald, singer Elmiene, Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett, tennis champion Taylor Townsend, and Emmy-nominated Tracee Ellis Ross.
In a notable acknowledgment of her contributions, Tracee Ellis Ross will also receive special honors at the event as she is set to be awarded the Pathbreaker of the Year. This award celebrates her efforts in advancing diversity and inclusivity in both the entertainment and beauty sectors, marking her as a beacon of progress.
Additionally, the Gala will honor supermodel Iman, recognizing her incredible trailblazing career that spans over five decades with the Icon of the Year award. Lonnie G. Bunch III, who serves as the 14th Secretary of the Smithsonian, will be recognized as the Humanitarian of the Year, reflecting his commitment to societal betterment. Shaquille O'Neal, the NBA legend turned business mogul, will also be in the spotlight as he receives the Entrepreneur of the Year award, acknowledging his successful ventures in business.
The event will be hosted by Robin Thede, a comedian, writer, and actor. The Ebony Power 100 Gala marks a significant milestone in Ebony's journey as it celebrates its 80th anniversary — a tribute to the publication's ongoing legacy of uplifting and showcasing Black excellence.

This year’s roster of honorees embodies this mission, featuring prominent figures such as Michelle Obama and Craig Robinson (who co-host "The IMO Podcast"), the talented Blue Ivy Carter, "Girlfriends" and "Forever" creator Mara Brock Akil, acclaimed actor Sterling K. Brown, award-winning actress Kara Young, Indianapolis Colts linebacker Zaire Franklin, former "SNL" star Ego Nwodim, activist and creator RaeShanda Lias, Waymo co-CEO Tekedra N. Mawakana, NASCAR driver Bubba Wallace, as well as Wunmi Mosaku and Miles Caton from the series "Sinners."
The Power 100 honorees are recognized across ten distinct categories, including artists in residence, business innovators, community advocates, entertainment leaders, rising stars under 40, influential content creators, sports leaders, media influencers, music trailblazers, and pioneers in STEM.
